The US start-up Hyperloop One has made a second successful test of its high-speed train and is now ready to go to the marketing stage, AFP said.
The new test, made July 29 in the Nevada desert, allowed the prototype to travel at a speed of 310 km / h, compared with 112 km / h in the first test in May.
In total, the Hyperloop One XP-1, the prototype's name, was nearly 450 meters, the group said, which has successfully tested all components of the system.
Over time, the Hyperloop, which is maintained in the air thanks to a magnetic support system, would reach 1,200 km / h.
"We have shown that Hyperloop is really working," said Shervin Pishevar, executive chairman and co-founder of Hyperloop One, a company that now has nearly 300 employees, for AFP.
"Starting today, we are going to the marketing process," he added.
Hyperloop One is already discussing with several governments and potential partners, explained the director of this start-up that has already paid $ 160 million from investors.
In 2013, American contractor Elon Musk, who founded the Tesla Motors electric carmaker, presented the project of a new public transport system called Hyperloop, where passengers can move into metallic capsules that run at high speeds through some Steel tubes in which the pressure is low.
Musk said that 7.4 million people could be transported annually between San Francisco and Los Angeles and the 600km could be traveled in less than an hour. The necessary investment would be $ 6 billion, and the completion of the project would take 7-10 years. Metal capsules will be able to carry up to 28 passengers at a time.
