I was remiss a few days ago in not posting about the Ben Venue site in Ohio closing over the next few months. The plant has a troubled recent history with several quality issues and had been under FDA fire. Boehringer Ingeheim, the company's parent, said that spending to improve its quality profile was not viable as thought and projected the facility would lose $700 M over the next five years if it continued to operate.
I just thought I should finsih reporting on the story, as my post several years ago "Ben Venue Pisses Off the FDA" remains one of my more popular ones. Now it seems that 1100 people jobs are in the toilet. See NewsNet5.
