Vertex CEO, Matt Emmens, got in his shots at Morgan Stanley analyst, David Friedman -- a persistent naysayer -- at the recent Morgan Stanley Global Healthcare Conference.
Vertex has been on a roll lately with the approval and good sales start for its hepatitis C drug, Incivek. Vertex is also getting good clinical results with its cystic fibrosis drug and is planning to file with the FDA for that drug soon. It also today was picked as one of the best Biotech employers to work for in Science's annual survey. And, its stock price is up 40%

Emmens directly (though gently) chided Friedman, "Do you understand this company? I don't think so...I'm going to do the best I can to prove you wrong again and again, because it has been fun. But when does it stop, you know?"
