The crux of this one? New cancer treatments cost too much, address too few patients and provide too little benefit (in terms of survival) to be sustainable in the future -- given the economic drag developing in the system.
The Lancet Oncology says we need to wave a magic wand to create a radical shift in policy to stop tolerance of "unfairness in access to affordable cancer treatment" and to deliver "fair prices and real value from new technologies."
Oh! Is that all?
