This post and patient quote from the Pharmalot blog about says it all as Genzyme has informed Fabry's disease patients that it will again be unable to supply enough Fabrazyme to meet US patients needs due to continuing supply and quality issues.
“I thought it was a wonder drug,” patient Tom Olshewski tells us. “I was 100 percent for this company. I would do speaking engagements for them. But now, I wouldn’t give them two cents. I think they should be held on criminal charges for what they’re doing to people…our tax dollars paid for the research and development of this drug, and they turn around and ship it to another country…it’s nothing but greed..Every time you turn around, there’s a different excuse from them. Two and a half years we’ve been going through this.”
Shameful really for a licensed pharmaceutical. Shameful.
