Tekmira amended its complaint against Alnylam yesterday with new claims alleging "breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, tortious interference with contractual relationships and civil conspiracy. For good measure, they also added AlCana Technologies as a defendant.
AlCana alleged wrongodings include "misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference with contractual relations, unjust enrichment, unfair and decptive acts and trade practices, and civil conspiracy. Sounds bad, doesn't it?
Tekmira is looking for $1 billion plus damages -- including royalties and profits the two defendants would receive from taking Tekmira's technology and to terminate its license with Alnylam. Sounds like we're headed to divorce court for sure. See PBR.
