Takeda issued a statement today that it "has not agreed to any such agreement [with Nycomed] as suggested by certain newspaper publications." Damn newspapers!
Of coure, they didn't say they weren't n the process of purusing such an agreement. Takeda merely indicated it wasn't in the habit of commenting on market rumors (other than to say we don''t have an agreement in hand).
Analysts say Takeda's profits are headed for a 13 year low on the heels of generic competition for its top-selling Actos. So many are prediciting the "Real Deal" to be announced within the month and possibly by next week. See Fierce Biotech.
