In the Red corner, Kevin Kinsella and Bob More will speak to so-called big pharma bad behaviors in negotiating with biotechs - like "back-end" loaded deals, bad-faith negotiations, and no-risk partnerships. Behaviors that they say cal into question whether "the partnership between Big Pharma and biotech can really continue"
In the Black corner, Camille Samuels and Wende Hutton will argue that if are a "have" versus a "have not" and you ARE selective, you can still drive value with big pharma in cutting a deal. "We're not in some Pollyanna period where everything is up and to the right."
The debate happens at the San Diego Venture Group breakfast tommorrow (April 19th) at the Hyatt Regency, La Jolla. In essence, is Big Pharma behaving badly or do VC's need a better class of clients to supply to market demand?
