J&J signed a new drug development agreement with Sanford-Burnham Insitute to develop new drugs for Alzheimer's and psychiatric disorders. The deal could be worth as much as $85 M to Sanford-Burnham. The deal is with the Ortho-McNeil-Janssen division within J&J.
This is just the latest Big Pharma - Academic Insitute deal with several being announced in just the past few months - many between members of Big Pharma and UCSF. Sanford-Burnham also has a similar deal to the J&J pact with Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
