UCSF continues to strike deals with Big Pharma. The latest announcement concerns a new 10-year master R&D agreement with Bayer.
Bayer Nuzzles Up Even Closer to UCSF, Strikes 10-Year Master R&D Agreement.
Under the terms of the deal, UCSF researchers will be able to submit proposals and tap into a research fund provided by Bayer. The hope is to speed up the process of translating basic science discoveries into novel medicines. The agreement will help Bayer an dUCSF researchers collaborate on a broad range of projects.
Bayer receives rights to use certain UCSF IP in research and discovery. It also gets a first right of refusal to license IP resulting from collaborations with UCSF staff.
