This just in from Luke Timmerman at Xconomy. Henri Termeer issued a memo to Genzyme employees that the company was in a critical phase of its history and would be cutting 1000 jobs in the next 15 months.
Genzyme Cutting 1,000 Jobs Over Next 15 Months.
It seems like only a few months ago, we were talking about Termeer having his job cut. Now, he is citing the Sanofi takeover attempt as one justification for making the cuts as it "reinforces how important it is to take control and maximize the value we bring to patients and shareholders"
Apparently, that doesn't necessarily extend to employees too.
