SAFC and Vivalis team up to produce the EBx cell line and medium system for the production of viral vaccines. EBx, an embryonic duck stem cell line, has been successfully applied to the production of human vaccines, like the flu, and has been shown to be permissive across an array of virus vaccines.
SAFC produces the EBx media as catalog products that are used in conjunction with the EBx cell line for viral production. SAFC can also provide custom versions of the formulation through development agreements. Several clients are in clinical trials using the EBx system.
