Cliff Mintz reports in his BioJobBlog this morning that Eli Lilly and Wal-mart will team up to sell Humulin as a co-branded product in Wal-mart stores? Huh? Did I get that right?
I've been advocating that Big Pharma needs to change its thinking, business models, etc to face a brave new world. This is a reminder that "innovation" doesn't necessarily mean new and different products - it can be innovation around how the product is sold and brought to market as in this case.
We appear to be in for some changes.
