Mike gives 5 concrete suggestions for how the relationship between big pharma and biotech needs to change to become more productive in the coming years. These include changes in managing the science and in managing the business relationship -- and the expectations associated with both.

The pharma executives in this poll from the Pharmatimes seem pretty pessimistic about their chances of internal innovation. Let's hope they embrace some of the more creative models emerging.

Speak of the devil. Here is a new deal that Pfizer just announced today in a collaboration with Wash U that will pay the university $22.5 M over 5 years to assist with application identification for existing compounds in Pfizer portolio.
