As very very recently reported in the Pharmalot blog, the FDA has just approved Dendreon's Provenge as the first vaccine for prostate cancer! After almost 3 years in the waiting in agency - the good news is out for Dendreon stockholders and share price has jumped 15%.

With regard to the pricing question posed in my post on April 16th (http://thebigredbiotechblog.typepad.com/the-big-red-biotech-blog/2010/04/when-are-the-prices-right-for-dendreons-provenge.html), Michael Schulman of Seeking Alpha suggests Dendreon management has blown it by not lowering price to encourage off label use to expand market. Novel idea - perhaps not from investment type.
