Rx-360, the international supply chain consortium dedicated to protecting patient safety through improving the safety of the supply chain, announced the inception of its pilot "Audit Sharing Program". Existing company members of Rx-360, both from the pharmaceutical and supplier side, will share audit information gathered on 30 suppliers in several regions of the world - including North America, Europe, India and China.
The Audit Sharing Working Group is currently making contact with these suppliers to confirm participation and to answer questions they may have. SAFC is proud to be a participant in the working group and a supporter of Rx-360 since its inception in June 2009. We fully support the aim of creating greater transparency in the supply chain. This pilot Audit Sharing program is an important first step in that effort and a real milestone for Rx-360.
All pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical producers, and their suppliers are encouraged to join Rx-360. Protection of the supply chain not only safeguards patients but also provides many benefits for participating Companies via shared information and resources to improve industry knowledge, efficiencies and costs.
The Rx-360 program is consistent with the aims of SAFC's raw material characterization program described in several posts on this site in the past few months.
