It is not enough to make the pharmaceutical - you also have to be able to distribute it safely. In many cases, that means having temperature controlled processes that you can count on. Pharmaceutical Online published a new White Paper sponsored by American Airlines Cargo that deal with temperature controlled shipping.
Clearly, this, too, is an increasing area of concern and is just another extension to securing your supply chain. As a raw material supplier to pharmaceutical processes, we're increasing getting requests from Big Pharma to help them with the logistics of shipping raw materials, e.g. cell culture media, to more remote locations in Asia Pacific while maintaining tight temperature control.
We further contribute by performing stability and temperature excursion studies (establishing the limits) to support our expertise in logistics of moving the product itself. Basically, generatng the data to provide the assurance of product integrity.
