More news related to stomach cancer today, this time not a positive. As reported in Pharaceutical Business Review, the results of the latest phase III study (AVAGAST) examing Avastin (bevacizumab) in combination with Xeloda (capecitabine) showed the pair did NOT hit its endpoint for extending lives of people with advanced stomach cancer as compared to chemotherapy alone.
